In the past 5 months, I have lost 5.5 stone. Before I started to lose that weight, I would feel sore in my joints all the time and I cried if I had to walk anywhere. The weight gain had been the result of Menopausal issues, grief, extreme stress and exhaustion, and of course eating badly with no exercise. During lockdown I grew to weigh just over 17 stone. Now I weigh just under 11.5 stone. I have a - relatively - short way to go and can do that without a need to rush. I eat so healthily and use intermittent fasting to lose weight. It works well.
Obviously I have been asked by more than a few people what my secret is or how I have done that and, without hesitation, I always reply Pilates. I say that for me has been the real game-changer. Of course I do qualify that with the fact that it is not just Pilates but a truly expert instructor. You really are. You are so clear and well-organised. My son (who is very athletic) and my husband praise you from the sidelines. Today they couldn’t believe their eyes when I did sit-ups with the band. My husband and I giggle at my body and the sudden appearance of the IT band, quads, hamstrings, and the fact that I have lost a lot of weight very quickly but have very little loose skin as my body has responded to the toning of the Pilates. Moreover I am able to feel positive and smile again. I am happy.
I think that I am very blessed to have you in my life, and blessed to have Pilates. I think we are all very blessed that it is 2020 and not 1620 as you may have been tried as a witch for the magic you weave.

I nearly didn't join your class this morning had a really bad night due to nerve pain in both my back and leg so very little rest or sleep. Sleeping with a pillow under the leg didn’t stop me waking numerous times to take pain killers through the night so felt pretty rubbish this morning.
Mind over matter and pure stubbornness said get on with it and so glad I did. Felt so much better after the class both mentally and physically, so thank you.!

I have had back trouble from the age of 21 when I had a car crash. I have had to go to an Osteopath once a month eversince. Last August 2006 my back gave out totally I couldn’t sit stand or lay down, it was agony. In January 2007 my back went totally again. My Osteopath said if it couldn’t be sorted I would have to have surgery on my back. After a period of treatment he suggested that Pilates would be very beneficial to strengthen my lower back muscles that were now very weak. He gave me Sam’s class details. In March 2007 I enrolled very furtively into Sam’s classes. I haven’t looked back since-the classes are uncrowded, friendly and I received 1 2 1 tuition and all the attention that I needed in the classes being able to work at my own pace, not feeling at all self conscious. The strength and suppleness my Osteopath has seen me gain in my lower back due to Pilates has gone beyond his expectations and mine!! I still have my back problem-that will never go away-I still visit my Osteopath regularly. I now do not need surgery on my lower back which is a great relief. I have also toned up my stomach hip and thigh area I was a size 10/12 and now only due to this exercise I am now a size 8-Bonus!! Thanks Sam for your Patience, knowledge and expertise and for making your classes so enjoyable. I honestly don’t know where I would be without Pilates, its changed my quality of life so much.
Pilates offers so much for everyone-Its turned my life around I had given up ever finding anything that would actually help my problem- I recommend Pilates to anyone.

I foolishly gave up Pilates after a flirtation with it several years ago. A recommendation specifically to Sam from a local osteo meant I restarted classes with her in 2009, when the pain from a debilitating lower back complaint was making life intolerable. Her classes are the best cure for chronic pain I have ... and, as an added benefit, I recently got my thighs into size 10 skinny jeans, a feat never achieved over the course of decades in the gym or on a diet!
